North Main Animal Hospital which opened in 1999, is owned by Dr. John Schulte and Dr Jennifer Struble. The clinic is housed in a quaint, old farmhouse that was part of the Huber family farm. You will know you’re here when you see our landmark-the big red barn. North Main’s staff is comprised of 5 Veterinarians and a team of Veterinary Technicians and our wonderful office receptionist. Our amazing staff provides state of the art veterinary care while maintaining a small-town family-oriented atmosphere. Our services include wellness care, medical services and diagnostics including onsite bloodwork and Xray. As well as dental care and surgical procedures ranging from routine to emergency, including orthopedics.

There is nothing that could have made our experience better. The receptionist was wonderful. My absolute favorite is Megan. She was so knowledgeable about cats and gave us some very useful information. She was so happy and fun. You can tell she LOVES her job! The doctors were great! Thank you all so much ♥️

I cannot express how much the kindness and competence of the team at North Main put us at ease when faced with an unexpected surgery for our senior gal Mya. I was worried, but knew she was in great hands, which made leaving her there for a few overnights a little easier. She is now home and one the mend, with all the thanks for that going to this amazing staff.

Never had one bad experience in the many years my pets have been seen here! Very responsive staff. Always feel my pet is important and not just another animal they see. Always always always explain everything thoroughly. Never push for any tests - just offer the full care plan and then the choice is ours with no pressure. Receive follow up calls after a surgery or sick visit. Amazing!

Best vet in ofallon! They treat our two dogs with the up most care and respect and always helpful with questions and answers! They are very well managed and the staff is so nice to everyone and treats our pets as of they were their own. I love that we are always kept in the know of when our next appointments are and how gracious they are with scheduling.

John Schulte, DVM

FOUNDER | Veterinarian

Dr. Schulte graduated in 1994 from the University of Missouri Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine.  After graduation, he worked in Elsberry, MO.  He founded North Main Animal Hospital in 1999.  He is a native of St Paul, MO.

Jennifer Struble, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Struble graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She grew up in Ballwin, MO. She worked in St. Charles after graduation and joined North Main Animal Hospital in 2005.

Scott Hachting, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Hachting graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He is originally from the St. Charles area. He practiced in St Louis County prior to joining North Main Animal Hospital in 2010.

Emily Grumich, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Grumich graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.  She is originally from the Kansas City area.  She was involved in shelter medicine for the first 5 years after graduation.  She fostered sick pets for rescue groups and volunteered with operation Steral Feral.  She joined North Main Animal Hospital in 2012.

Sydney Gooch, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Gooch graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.  She is very excited to serve the community she grew up in!  While she enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, her professional interests include orthopedics, surgery, and preventative care.  She enjoys being outdoors cycling, running, and spoiling her two retired research dogs, Edith, and O’Hara.
